Red River Manga

I'm addicted to it. :-/

It's about this girl, Yuri, who was dragged into the ancient Turkish empire. Anyway, read the summary and the scanlations here: MangaFox Red River (http://www.mangafox.com/page/manga/series/132/anatolia_story_red_river/). I've started at the beginning of April and I'm about to finish it tonight.

It's really really really nice! Very very good example of female empowerment and leadership. Leadership by doing the right thing, by being selfless, and by loving others. :) This girl is a very good role model for all women.

Not only does it teach leadership, it also teaches how to seduce men. HAHA.

Update: I'm completely finished. I feel so sad that it's over. :( I love the characters.

Making Sand Castles with White Sand

 Ziggurat Sand Castle in Boracay
Originally uploaded by yvette_cute_ty
It's like drawing -- making figures and all. I was addicted to making shapes out of sand. It's a bit more difficult, because it's not like clay. However, I've always wanted to make one, but never got to because of the grainy sand from other beaches.

I finally got to make one when I was in Boracay! White sand... very fine. We made it under the shade 3-6 PM. I learned that if you were to make sand castles, make sure it's not hot. Or else, the moisture from the sand will evaporate, making your sand castle less sturdy.

In this picture, we made a Ziggurat slash Rice Terraces sand castle out of sand and "lumot". The lumot was supposedly slimy and disgusting, but it proved to be useful and pretty. :P

Unfortunately, sand castles only last a day. So we took lots of pictures of it!
I always get pasta from NYFD so I have something to eat in the movie house.

It comes in the container that they use for the really big fries, so it's pretty easy to hold-&-eat.

It has bits of green bell pepper and parsley in it. There are also ham squares in the mix. :P It's good to have when the movie you'll be watching is your lunchtime/dinnertime. It's kinda big so I like sharing mine. ;)

The bread isn't good, though. It's dry.

Php 135.00 from New York Fries and Dips in Eastwood Cinema floor.
Post It Book

This little sticky paper book is cute and useful. :D It's small enough to fit in my back-pocket. :D

I used this for:

Leaving little notes on my friends' laptops (eg "Ian loves ___" or "Run the anti-virus whenever you can" or "I love you!")

Using it for organizing data and ideas that constantly need rearranging (eg Process order)

Using it as a reminder for certain tasks that i keep on forgetting.

Upside: this costs PhP 30.00 (from 168 mall)

Downside: It's not as sticky as the branded Post-its. :(
Starbucks Caramel Macchiato

I'm craving for a tall iced caramel macchiato right now.

Anyway, I found site with a recipe of it. :D

Caramel Macchiato

The average coffee mug is probably equivalent to a Tall (12-oz/355 mL). I am not following precise Starbucks standards, though if you must know it's properly one shot of espresso, about .75 oz syrup (.25 oz per 4 oz liquid capacity).

milk

espresso

vanilla syrup

your favorite caramel sauce

In a regular-sized coffee mug, add vanilla syrup and steamed milk. Top with milk foam and add freshly brewed espresso through the foam. Drizzle with caramel sauce.

Iced Caramel Macchiato

Same ingredients, plus some small ice cubes and (optional) whipped cream

In a pint glass or iced tea glass (we're assuming 16 oz), add vanilla syrup and fill about 3/5 of the way with cold milk. Add ice almost to the top and pour espresso (2 shots would be typical) over the top. If you've done it right, the espresso will mix in only about halfway down without stirring. If adding whipped cream, add it here. Drizzle the top with caramel and enjoy.

Source: "The Starbucks Caramel Macchiato". Geocities.com. 19 Apr 2008 <http://www.geocities.com/connorbd/coffee/caramel.html>.
Photoshop Disasters

As some of you know, I'll be off to Boracay next weekend. The thought of wearing a bikini makes me anxious.

But after looking at these sites, I kind of feel better.

I actually don't know what to use my LJ for, aside from using this to view friends-only journals.

For now, I'll stick to my 3 blogs:

My Tabulas - friends-only for a really selected network
My Multiply - For personal stuff that I want to post publicly to my network
Rookie Learning IT Blogspot - I keep this for my public entries on topics in IT and business and other things I'd like to share
.
I'm still thinking what I'm going to blog here. I like the simplicity of the interface. :P

Read my latest entry:

Networking - Not The Technical Kind
http://rookielearningit.blogspot.com/2008/04/networking.html
